I just realized that I made one entry in my blog, and promptly forgot about it. My new goal…to be more “bloggish” and proactive about keeping this updated.
Coltin updates: Since 8 mos he has been crawling like a mad man. He mostly likes “army crawling”. I think its because it gets him around faster, but more and more we see the actual on knees crawling. This weekend he followed me all over the upstairs, from the bedroom to the kitchen numerous times. Its so amazing to see how quickly he is growing up.
He also is so so so close to walking. It kills me how brave he is. One day, he crawled over to me, pulled himself up and held onto my leg and the coffee table downstairs in the family room, then let go of the coffee table, let go of my leg and swiftly attempted a step. He face planted, but he was so brave!
I miss my little sack of potatoes that I could leave on the bed and use the bathroom. Now, he is about ready to fall off the bed if you aren’t right there and wants to follow you everywhere. Plus, he is into everything. And I mean everything! His favorite is the dog’s water dish. Just when he thinks we aren’t looking, he sticks a finger in it & then next thing goes his hands splashing around.
And, he waves! Not all the time, but usually just hello. And, he points when he doesn’t want to wave. It was so sad this morning, he rested his head on my MIL’s shoulder when I went to get into the 4Runner to go to work and he looked at me and just pointed.
In other news: Rivas & Ryan got Coltin’s swingset base finally moved into the backyard. We are one step closer to getting the play area going. I can’t wait!
The house is also getting cleaned up. Since Coltin’s birthday bashes (yes, two) will be at my house, I have to get it spotless for when my family comes, as most haven’t seen the new house. I have been working on the office because it is an absolute mess and in need of dire attention. I have almost sorted & filed a 2 foot tall stack of papers, as well as sorting the desk as I go. Its amazing what you find. (The desk cleaning started originally as part of a search for my cell phone headsets. WA state passed a new law effective 07/01/08 that you have to be hands free on your cell while you drive.)
